Hollywood Hills Mansion Faces Squatting Nightmare as Intruders Create Fake Lease

A multimillion-dollar mansion in the Hollywood Hills became the scene of a bizarre squatter situation earlier this year, featuring a person who forged a fake lease agreement, a woman claiming to create content for her OnlyFans page, and even a French bulldog.

Real estate agents Emily Randall-Smith and her husband, Tyler Smith, discovered the unauthorised occupants when they arrived at the property to prepare for an open house on January 6. Signs of intrusion were evident, with a broken security box and a new mailbox placed outside.

The couple had shown the property to potential buyers just before Christmas, and it sat vacant for a few weeks. The fully furnished home, listed on Airbnb, was supposed to be prepared for an open house, but the agents needed help to gain entry. Tyler Smith observed a man lying on a bed through a window, prompting them to call the Los Angeles police.

When officers arrived and knocked on the door, there was no response. The police, after walking around the property and using their cruiser’s speaker to order anyone inside to come out, left without entering the home at the homeowner’s request.

Later, the couple saw lights in the house and summoned the police again. This time, a woman answered the door, claiming to be renting a room and presenting a lease agreement that appeared to be fake. The police escorted her and her dog out of the house.

Upon further inspection, the real estate agents discovered bicycle locks on doors, garage door openers, and evidence suggesting the squatters intended an extended stay. The intruders had cut the wiring to security cameras, set up their own Wi-Fi, and even added a mailbox, possibly to receive mail at the address.

The couple recorded the aftermath, showcasing the intrusion’s extent, including the dog’s activities throughout the house. Despite neighbours’ reports of parties thrown by the unauthorised occupants, the police have not provided updates or information on arrests related to the incident.

The mansion remains listed for sale, leaving the real estate agents grappling with the aftermath of an unexpected and unsettling situation.
